Finished UFO's

Well I have finally finished 2 UFO's. One started a year ago and the other 13 years ago.

The first is a Crochet blanket I started 1 year ago that is my first attempt at Crocheting.
Admittingly it is crooked in the middle but I continued on and got the hang of it. I was told to undo it all and corredt my mistake in the early rounds but decided to leave it so I knew that It was my first blanket and not perfect but I still managed to work it out in the end.

I then learnt how to do scalloped boarders and decided to finish this blanket off with a scalloped boarder. I loved the result.

Next I finally finished a baby quilt I started 13 years ago for my niece who is now 13. I don't think she will want it anymore so I am going to put it in my cupboard with all the other baby things that I have made in anticipation of granchildren.
The quilt has been professionaly quilted by my friend and I love the outcome of the daisy design as it matches the quilt so beautlifully.

Now I am all inspired to finish some more UFO quilts and other projects started and not finished.

Such a nice feeling to finish something but even better to start a new one.

Baby Blanket for Billie Rose

It's been a while since I last posted but have been busy stitching and crocheting.
I made this little blanket for my daughters friend who was having a baby

I decided to add the initials of the baby to the edge of the blanket and blanket stitch around.
My daugters friend loved it and apparently it's her favourite blanket.
Here is my daughter holding little Billie Rose
Loved making this so much
that I am now hooked (parden the pun) and making lots more.

Crochet Baby blankets

Happy Easter everyone, I  decided to have a go at doing crochet borders to some flannel baby wraps. I have not been blessed with Grandchildren yet but thought it would be nice to get some practise in.
Below is my first attempt at doing a crochet edge, I am very happy with the result.

I am now hooked (pardon the pun) and cannot wait to do more. Will have to keep them all nicely stacked away for that day when hopefully 1 of my 3 adult children will bless me with Grandchildren.

Crochet Passion

Happy New Year to everyone, after a really hot Christmas & New Year there is finally some rain happening outside in West Australia. I know Queensland has had some terrible rain and flooding and my thoughts are with those that have lost so much.
During these hot and sticky days I have been sitting under the Air Conditioner hooking away to my hearts content and loving it.
I learnt to Crochet a few months ago and have not stopped since. I love the relaxed peaceful feeling I get from it. I don't have to concentrate too much like I do with my Applique and quilting.

Below are my first attempts at some Granny Squares.
I am hopefully getting the tension right a bit now, I guess lots more practice is the key.

I have also been making this blanket from Debbi Bliss Baby Cashmerino, it is so lovley to work with.
This blanket is going to be for the end of my bed. Ime loving this and try and do a couple of rounds every night.

Hopefully I can put up soon 2 finished blankets before winter.

Here's to Happy Hooking
